Challenges

The NYC Department of Energy and Environment mandates that all buildings larger than 25,000 square feet submit an annual energy and water consumption report through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Energy Star Portfolio Manager. Our client, a compliance services company managing multiple properties, faced major operational challenges due to a fragmented and manual data collection process. Critical building information was gathered from emails and spreadsheets, making Energy Star submissions time-consuming, inconsistent, and difficult to manage at scale.

The client needed to modernize and scale their Energy Star compliance operations to meet NYC regulatory requirements efficiently. Solution

A robust compliance management platform written in.NET MVC and C # using a resilient SQL Server backend was built. The solution moved operations outside of inboxes into a standardised digital environment:
